End of 2017 and K-drama BLACK

Hello , so this will be the last blog for this year ...
I just missing my last September entry , i did eleventh month this year. I am proud.

Next year, i'll continue learn and  improve my self to be a better blogger , artist and person .
This will be a very short entry, LOL.

Actually i got enamel pin ready to put on sale on my ETSY , but because its a "DO IT NOW" project, i didn't prepare the backpaper design to go with it , after i got the pin and i decided its good to put on sale ( yes, its gambling project) i made the back paper, but its overlapped with holiday and new year holiday .. so i think it will be put on sale on January mid.

Meanwhile, my brain start to think what clipart and clean up my room for things that i don't need, i also watch Korean drama... it is addicted , before write this i just finished watching BLACK

Let me review it a bit , this K-drama put me on suspense the whole series, it so tangled i cannot predict the plot, i can predict the end tho, but i didn't know what happen in the middle.

I actually a bad audience for complicated drama, if i sense its gonna be stupid and complicated, i'll watch episode one then the end, because i know ( i assume) the plot ( nothing surprise me).

But BLACK... i just need to know, so i watched without a skip episode. 😅

Overall its a good drama, one thing that irks me was, the female character ,not the actress, the character she played , i think the character personality can be fix a bit also they look like brother and sister than couple. Thank goodness its finish LOL.

Enamel or Lapel Pin

Lapel pin , according to Wikipedia , is  small pin worn on clothing, often worn on the lapel of a jacket.
I personally just recently knew that lapel pin IS enamel pin.
Well, maybe enamel pin  based on how the pin was colored (?!) and lapel pin named based where the pin is use, anyhow it the same, right? LOL.

Nowadays i see many indie artist in and outside Indonesia made their own custom design enamel pin.

I as an introvert never aware of this until early this year i went vacation to Japan and i saw the enamel pins, and i thought ... "this is new" LOL! And i bought it.

Its holiday season... and i don't have any holiday clipart to sell or share.
I wonder because i'm living in Indonesia that's made me unaware about holiday season.
Its Christmas time ... but here it doesn't feel like it...i'm living in a remote small town... and Christmas is minority here...so only Church celebrate it, we don't have mall to decorate so... no that either.

I hope i get better on reading the "season" next year....Wow, 2018... time fly with jet engine these days.

This week i actually made a postcard design for personal use, and i'm using a printing company to print it, purchased it online , so hopefully the postcard came out great.

I order the print on-line,  again because where i live no big or complex digital printing, by complex i meant they have limited option of paper and finishing, also even when i'm looking through all the online printing company, i only found one particular company that might got the paper that i want.

I'm waiting for the result , if its good ... ohooo... so much i want to make.. hahaha

That's the intro for today post... now let us dive in...

The Beauty in the sleeping Wood or Little Briar Rose by Charles Perault  a.k.a Sleeping Beauty , a classic fairy tale (wasn't all fairy tale classic 😅)

And that was my theme for this week clipart (it finish, at last)


My memory about Sleeping Beauty was Disney's Sleeping Beauty, this princess got different feature from other princess that i know, for me Aurora feature was Classsic American Beauty, high cheekbone, full lips , slim figure.
Not to mention the art, i notice all the tree were tall (some are short) got geometric feature, the color play , color scheme and the perspective .... just lovely.

Interesting : My November Manga List

Aside from making clipart and watching Korean drama or daydreaming and drink Coffee , i do LOVE read Manga.
Read is my number one hobby , and Manga is my number one reading material.

I read almost all genre , but manga that i hold dear is always the one that got great friendship or team work value in it.

Like Eyeshiled21, One Piece , Detective Conan, Fairy Tail , Harlem Beat, Nanatsu No Taizai and etc.
Great stories, quirky characters and amazing art work.

Anyway, early this week i found a  manga with the preference that i like.

This week i made another princes theme clipart for my Etsy and Creative Market shop.

Not long ago Disney produce Beauty and The Beast movie , i love Disney fairy tale animation and animation and  movie.. but the thing that don't sit well with me about making movie based on fairy tale .. that every fairy tales that i adore got this DARK nuance , too dark for my taste.

Before Beauty and the Beast, there was Alice , Maleficent and Cinderella ... NOT my cup of tea. Its probably made for more mature target market or broader target audience , but.. really... should it really that dark? I don't watch those movie, i just see the trailer and that was a turn off.

Once upon a time, fairy tales especially Disney fairy tales, at least for me... was about silver lining in every dark cloud , be your self , the best yet to come. Now ... life is bad, there are more than meets the eye... and it always DARK!

I am more to the animation side than the movie (talking about Disney fairy tales here)
I just hope if they gonna make Little Mermaid (my fav fairy tale) and Alladin ... they make it brighter.

Hello ^^ , this week was very hot and humid  in my area , while in other region rain was pouring generously , mine not so much.

This week, i got caught on classic cartoon on Youtube , with anything classic there was always sense of fulfillment  engulf in it, either by making them (it took along way and many steps to make one) or just to look or watch them . Back to the vintage cartoon , its really amazing what can be create or made with such limitid tech or tools.  I might write a post dedicate for things i love to enjoy one day.

But for today, let me share with you my last week achievement. I made 2 coloring pages , one is from my Owl Summer clipart and the other one was coloring pages from my last year clipart Cute Kitten Halloween Parade. Doesn't need a lot of work actually , but i enjoy the process still.

Does anyone know South Korean Drama, Goblin? At Summer time, its only naturan in certain country, by that i mean Asian country like Korea, Japan and China to produce a horror story, ghost story or sort of. Its say to cooler the temperature a bit when you tell a ghost story ... the chill.. cold sweat kinda thing.

Back to my earlier question, anyone saw the drama? Why i ask? Nothing important 😅 , it just pop up in my mind.i mean, its Autumn now, and the big celebration for the season is halloween , for a moment there i though this time still Summer , yet again in the drama a lot of the scene was taken around Autumn and Winter , thats why i mention it... i miss-process the information, LOL.

Okay, next.. i forgot that today actually Sunday (in Indonesia), now actually fifteen minutes before Monday ( Indonesia. Just a moment i finish my cute OWL clipart for Halloween, so i got everything ready for a new post.

The first of October .... in some country , its soon or already Fall ( i presume)... my fav season.

Lets jump to the topic. After came back from my vacation, i started to do some doodles.. well actually its started with one doodle, but then i got addicted , and start to do it on daily basis ... today is my fifth day.

I'm using my Wacon intuos, gettin use to use it.

I also got a clipart for my Etsy and Creative Market, will upload it soon.
Somehow i lost words to write... let just go straight to my art, maybe next post i'll find my words ( i stop post for a month..no wonder i lost the words... well i actually never a good write anyway ...lol)

Hello, how long it's been since my last post ...? hmmm, i took time to re-arrange my over-whelming self.

During my vacant days, i also took time from making clip arts or any other arts for my Online Shops.
How i enjoyed my time, how i  relax? I read novel or manga ,also wrote some review about it, you can see that i add new widgets on my blog, GoodReads Widget.
I also play my favorite PC games ,anyone familiar with Zeus& Poseidon simulation games? I love that!My kind of games ( i got all the series and i re-play it whenever i need it, LOL)

Now... I'm back, ready and fresh to continue what i left.
For start... soft start... i made coloring pages from already made clipart. I already plan this for a long time, but i always in the middle of working something else.
Its's a simple art, afterall it's my clipart , so, its fit for kids , but it's also fit for adults.
I know it's not a complicated art like most of adult coloring pages are, but still, it can be fill with pattern instead of color. Or just pattern it then color it 😉

It's been a while that i want to make OWL theme cliparts.

I saw the OWL many times throughout the internet. And this week i able to made one ... not exactly one... more like three theme of the OWL theme .. or character.

Its really fun to make and i still have so several idea for this character and more. I am really enjoy make these.

Hi! I'm back.. I'm still productive, mojo not go anywhere yet, only acceleration need to be improve.

Let me share a bit about this clip art. For the theme, kitchen .. it just on the list, yes, i do have list for everything i want to make. But for this particular clip art , i finished it with a different touch.

If you guys saw my other posts,  noticed that my clip arts usually FLAT, simple , although for NUTCRACKER i did spiced it up with a watercolor texture finishing, but other than that, just simple flat design.

For this Kitchen clipart , i use a gradation touch up. I LOVE it.
It actually started with wrong-clicked, kind of a happy accident 😎
I  never thought that i will use this style of finishing for my arts, i am (still) intimidate by GRADIENT tool or gradient syle.
But ...i can say this finishing style will be repeated soon.

Illustration Friday: HOT

Ever feel overwhelmed but nothing done... In my case.. i often feel like that.
For couple month i felt like... i finish so little, add to that i went for vacation twice, so i am really got nothing done. But yet.. i  feel i am OVERWHELMED all the time ... then i came to conclusion... i am BORED.

I know the WHY... lets proceed to HOW i manage it...
I decided to take day off, of making cliparts . I got comic strip on pending process, my travel review also blog... but... that all had to wait... NOT THE TIME yet...

So... i decide to peek the Illustration Friday web...  for this week topic is HOT ...
This will do, relax yet not far from daily things i do.

While i'm doing it.. then i realize what i want is something INSTANT , something that finish the day that i start it. I do consider cooking and baking... but.. i'll keep that for next time.
Yeap, INSTANT, because usually when i make clipart.. i took several days or week from sketch to finish, not to say the distraction and all stuff  that need to be done on my daily basis. So get things done instantly can cure me, from this bored0loop that i'm going through right now.

And back to Illustration Friday... HOT is the topic, instantly i think fire and think think think , thought thought thought..... i end up with PELE....Fire Goddess fro Hawaiian Religion (?!)/ or Folktales.

I'm open my Adobe Illustrator, and just made it right there... now it finish it's reminds me of my Badges Series that i made (click for more) ...  Anyway.. it makes me happy , now i'm thinking to make another one.. (typical) lol...

Philately : President Stamps Series

USA President just changed from Mr. Barack Obama to Mr. Donald Trump ... nope this post not about politic, but this Presidential (?!) issue, things remind me of Indonesia Presidential Election in 2014.

2014 Indonesia Presidential Election for me was and still very SPECIAL , that election was the first time I participated whole heart.

That's why this Stamps Collection became some of my favorite.

I bought this set, because I'm not a fan of  First Day Press Set (?!) the set when stamps stick in to envelope with note and date stamps to make it collectible ...not a fan ,because i think those set is too much , to much material, that envelope i can't even use and it not fit in to my stamps album , although if i have no choice ... i do buy it.

After all it's lovely to have  whole sets like above, i can use  one set for keep and the rest  for sending postcards. :)

Also, this election bring out so many creative way to participate, from donate for campaign fund, using app or smartphone for monitoring and secure OUR voice , also make art about the campaign. Below is the stamps that using the same illustration that was use for T-Shirt during campaign, with some of Indonesia National Hero among them , Our Founding Fathers , Bung Karno and Bung Hatta at the front row :)

Review : TRAVELOKA

Good day :)

Hello 2017 and I just got back from my  LONG VACATION, and talking about vacation, mine always include AIRPLANE .

And ...nope.. we won't talk about my favorite airplane comapny ^^, instead i'll share my favorite place to purchase my plane ticket and that is  TRAVELOKA.

Traveloka is an online ticketing company.

Before we going further into my review, I'll first giving an info about this company.

Traveloka founder is Ferry Unardi Derianto Kusuma and Albert in 2012

The idea was came from Ferry Unardi , said he was studied at Harvard University, USA and on that period of time he always found a difficulty to obtain a ticket from US to his hometown Padang, Indonesia.

At first Traveloka was function as a comparing plane price website, but 2013 it changed to a online plane ticket reservation website and from there its evolved , adding smartphone app and on to hotel room reservation.

Read in Wikipedia , Ferry Unardi  was worked at Microsoft and Derianto Kusuma was worked as LinkedIn software engineer in Sillicon Valley but they were came back to Indonesia to built Traveloka.

Now, we back to my own experience using this company.

Once upon a time, i feel the most stressed part of vacation aside from packing ,was purchased a ticket. So many stepped need to be done, pick up a phone, call a travel agent ask for plane price, not to forget mention the time we favor, add to that because the ticketing system was online ( not the online that i know) it means the price is changing all the time. So we need to booked it first, and if it's time, and we okay, or if the agent inform that the price will go up, we OK it and they will issued it, and then, wait for the ticket in our email and we print it  or just booking code.....Just to write the process exhaust me.

But then, TRAVELOKA happens ^^
I started to use it in 2014, i know this company from ..kinda forgot where...perhaps on Facebook or TV ad , anyway the first time i tried it ... it's WOW me, easy as the ad said.

And by easy i mean... browse your Depart place to where you about to going, choose from many airplane company, what time, what price, fill your name (same as ID or Passport, please), email and phone number, choose payment method , and done, wait for email, SMS  or e-ticket on your app.

But because it's new for me, i called the customer service to make sure my purchased was valid. And it was.
Not to mention Traveloka price does cheaper as , again... the ad said ... YES, i did checked it with travel agent too, lol.

Traveloka expand very quick, now it's provide service in Indonesia , Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam,Thailand and Philippines
